Thundull Mountains

Thundull is an expansive mountain range that completely encircles the Syntallis continent. Its differing climates promote the growth of many types of trees and flora. Thundull is also home to the renkyl, a race of dwarves blessed with the powers of earth magic by their deity, Edmar the God of Earth.

Biome

The Thundull Mountains are an alpine biome with sharp, piercing winds and drastically varying temperatures. The most extreme examples of this temperature difference can be seen by the exterior mountains on the northern and southern sides of the continent. These mountains in the north are covered in ice year round, while the mountains bordering the Southern Ocean are constantly battered by tropical storms and hurricanes. When it comes to the interior mountains however, the environments are much more consistent. Howling winds rip across the lush valleys nestled at the bases of some mountains and echo atop their frigid peaks.

Climate per Season

The Thundull Mountains encircle the entire Syntallis continent, and as such, it’s climate is the most diverse on the continent. Snow and ice are present year round in the north, while hurricanes batter the southern borders. The west is hot and humid in the winter, and some say the Western Ocean comes close to boiling in the summer.

Natural Resources

Similar to how every plant and animal originated in Trest thanks to Vestale’s influence, every mineral and metal in the world can be found buried in the Thundull Mountains thanks to Edmar’s influence. While the surface is dotted with trees like evergreens, and lush valleys of wild grass can be found sprinkled throughout the mountains, the veins of ore buried deep underground are by far Thundull’s most valuable natural resources.

Flora

Due to Thundull’s expansive mountain ranges that tower into the sky, the terrain throughout most of the realm is harsh and unforgiving. The difficulty of traversing, let alone inhabiting these mountains, has led to Thundull having more types of fauna than any other realm besides Trest. However, given the inherent seclusion of these valleys, the vast majority of these plants remained undiscovered, or ignored by the renkyl.

Fauna

Due to Thundull’s expansive mountain ranges that tower into the sky, the terrain throughout most of the realm is harsh and unforgiving. The difficulty of traversing, let alone inhabiting these mountains, has led to Thundull having fewer types of fauna living amongst its peaks or down in its valleys compared to other realms. However, given the inherent seclusion of these valleys, those animals that have found their way to those hidden habitats have flourished for generations.

Monsters

Due to Thundull’s expansive mountain ranges that tower into the sky, the terrain throughout most of the realm is harsh and unforgiving. The difficulty of traversing, let alone inhabiting these mountains, has led to Thundull having fewer types of monsters living amongst its peaks compared to other realms. That said, those that have adapted to Thundull’s treacherous mountains, haven proven to be some of the deadliest ever encountered, like the castle-sized winged serpent known as the canthos.

Race

The predominant race native to the Thundull Mountains are the renkyl. The renkyl are a race of dwarves blessed with earth magic by their patron deity, Edmar, the God of Earth.

Continent

The Thundull Mountains span the entire outer perimeter of the Syntallis continent, which lies at the center of the world, and acts as the bridge that connects the other continents to each other.

Border Regions

Thundull is an expansive mountain range that completely encircles Accdor, Ronsenferg and Trest. Beyond the mountains to the north is the Frozen Sea, and Osuwain’s Tear beyond that. Far to the south is the Southern Sea where the one can find the Sereaz Archipelago. Going beyond the mountains to the west one will find the Western Ocean before landing ashore in the Renolyde Desert.

Deity

Edmar, the God of Earth, holds dominion over the Thundull Mountains.
