Ronsenferg Forest
Ronsenferg is temperate forest located on the northern half of the Syntallis continent. It's cold and cloudy climate promotes the growth of many types of trees and flora. Ronsenferg is also home to the argol, a race of beast-men blessed with the powers of lightning magic by their deity, Ronto the God of Lightning.
Biome
Ronsenferg is temperate forest that spans from the borders of Trest, which it completely encircles, to the Thundull Mountains. Given its location in the upper half of the Syntallis continent, its average temperature is forty degrees lower than the tropical jungle of Accdor to its south. Many hills and cliffs dot the uneven landscape and many rivers snake through the expansive forest.
Climate Per Season
The climate in Ronsenferg is cloudy and cold year round. Fierce storms of pouring rain, howling wind, and endless lightning assault the forest several times a week during the spring and summer, while equally fierce blizzards blanket the forest during the winter.
Natural Resources
Even though Ronsenferg is filled to the brim with massive pine and evergreen trees, the argol do not utilize this abundant source of wood as a natural resource beyond what they need to construct their buildings. The same goes for the wide variety of medicinal plants that grow in the forest. They do however, take advantage of the rich deposits of minerals like iron found deep underground, but those mines are mainly used as makeshift prisons instead of money making enterprises.
Flora
The diversity of the flora found in the Ronsenferg Forest is rather scarce when compared to Accdor to the south, or Trest beyond their central border. Some of the main reasons for this are the consistently severe weather, the argol’s continually expanding cities and the constant state of war the forest finds itself in thanks to the ceaseless strive for power. The significant number of monsters that roam the forest also make it an inhospitable environment for most plant life.
Fauna
Due to the intense nature of Ronsenferg’s political and environmental climates, the forest is a place where only the fiercest animals can survive. That said, with the roaming bands of Raisen clashing with each other and monsters like the Tygramis, a tiger infused with darkness that can melt into the shadows before emerging from another, prowling the forest, there isn’t much territory for normal animals to claim for themselves.
Monsters
Due to Ronsenferg’s proximity to Trest, all of the monsters that migrated from the land of the sypor had to pass through the forest to reach the rest of the world. Many believe this is where the cycle of violence began in Ronsenferg. While it is true that many monsters have since moved on from the forest, it is also true that the fiercest monsters, like the legendary behemoths, continue to reside in Ronsenferg till this very day.
Continent
Ronsenferg is located on the upper half of the Syntallis continent, which lies at the center of the world, and acts as the bridge that connects the other continents to each other.
Border Regions
Ronsenferg completely encircles Trest, while also being surrounded by the Thundull Mountains. Beyond the mountains to the north is the Frozen Sea, and Osuwain’s Tear beyond that. Far to the south is Accdor. Going beyond the mountains to the west one will find the Western Ocean before landing ashore in the Renolyde Desert.
