Standrix the Sky Continent
Standrix is a also known as the Sky Continent because it is a realm that floats over the world’s oceans. Standrix is also home to the tira, a race of avian humanoids blessed with the powers of wind magic by their deity, Stinetica the Goddess of Wind.
Biome Standrix is a series of temperate forests. The entire continent is covered in five great forests, along with two mountain ranges. Its only rivers flow down from the mountains. It also has a rich diversity of plant and animal life.
Climate per season Given Standrix’s unique placement amongst the clouds, its yearlong climate is also a bit unique. Its elevation prevents it from receiving rain, but the plants survive due to their ability to absorb moisture from the air, of which there is always plenty since Standrix floats over the world’s oceans. In addition to this, there is a tira profession called a raincatcher that sees a tira use their wind magic to harvest a raincloud in much the same way that a farmer would harvest a crop. Also, because of Standrix’s elevation the entire continent experiences constant winds. The average temperature of Standrix is also lower than anywhere else in the world, besides Osuwain’s Tear.
Natural Resources Standrix is a rich, mainly untouched land, filled to the brink with natural resources. Each of the five great forests contains a differing mix of trees, medicinal and edible plants, and wildlife.
Flora The diversity of the nutrients required in the soil for each of the five great forests that cover Standrix has also assisted in the general plant life being rather diverse as well. On top of that, fruits and vegetables are by far the most common foods eaten by the Tira, which in turn means that they have a vested interest in cultivating Standrix’s flora in a way that meets their dietary needs.
Fauna Due to the fact that the Tira colonies that span all of Standrix only reside in the canopies of the sprawling forests that cover the continent, the ground has been left unoccupied, and therefore available for the land’s wildlife. It is because of this that Standrix has a lot of diversity between the mammals and reptiles that share the continent with the tira.
Monsters Many monsters migrated to Standrix before Stinetica tore the continent from the earth, which is why they exist in the land above the clouds. However, the unique environmental factors that come with Standrix floating in the sky, like its elevation, have caused these monsters to evolve into specialized variants not seen anywhere else in the world. One example of this type of monster is the Kolesste which is a monster that looks like a gorilla, but can extend its arms to three times its height to better climb Standrix’s towering trees. It also has an affinity for wind-aspected Divine Energy which, among other things, allows it to clear distances of over a mile with a single jump. The wings that it can sprout from its back along with the fanged mouths that can appear on its hands and feet make it unique amongst other primate type creatures.
Race The predominant race native to Standrix are the tira who are a race of avian humanoids blessed with wind magic by their patron deity, Stinetica, the Goddess of Wind.
Continent Standrix spans the entirety of the Sky Continent, which hovers high above the world’s oceans.
Border Regions Given that Standrix is a continent floating in the sky it does not share its borders with any other region.
Deity Stinetica, the Goddess of Wind, holds dominion over Standrix the Sky Continent.
