Tira

The tira are a race of avian humanoids in the world of Liravythn. They are native to the Standrix the Sky Continent which hovers somewhere over the Endless Expanse. Their patron deity is Stinetica, Goddess of Wind, and they can use wind magic thanks to her Blessing.

Tira possess an innate ability to shift between an avian and humanoid form. The bird they can transform into is dependent on what clan they are born into, and in general, the clans are named based on what type of bird they can turn into.

When in their humanoid form, a tira's body takes on the shape of a human, but they still keep features like their feathers. In general, their mouths take the shape of their beaks, and their fingers and toes are talons instead, if applicable. Finally, tira keep their wings in their humanoid form and grow a pair of feathered arms.

When in their avian form, they become indistinguishable from a regular bird of the same species.

The ability to morph between their animal and humanoid forms is independent of their Blessing, meaning that this is something every tira can do even if they are born Stricken.

Regarding their magic, the strength of a tira's Blessing can be determined by the color of their wind magic. A Lowborn tira's wind magic does not have a color, while Adept generate red wind magic, Highborn generate yellow wind magic, and Touched generate white wind magic. The shades of these colors vary from person to person, but every shade falls within the given spectrum.

On average the height of a grown tira man is five feet eight inches tall and the average height for a grown tira woman is five feet tall. In regards to aging, their average lifespan is ninety-four years, but some of the oldest Tira on record lived into their one-hundred and twenties.
