Water Magic

Water magic is granted to the dygua thanks to the Blessing of the Goddess of Water, Osuwain. Every dygua with a Blessing has the innate ability to generate water from within themselves. This generation normally manifests in the palms of a dygua in the form of flowing currents of water, but it can also emerge from other body parts depending on factors such as the spell being used and the dygua casting it. While all dygua with a Blessing can conjure their own water, it is possible for some dygua to use external water as the source of their spells, while some can even manipulate the water of other dygua. An important aspect of water magic to keep in mind is that a dygua is immune to any source of water weaker than the water they can personally conjure, and resistant to water that is equal to it. Every type of magic is holds an advantage against some types of magic, while being at a disadvantage against others. Listed below is how water magic fares against the other types of magic.

Weakness: Wind, Lightning

Neutral: Nature, Darkness

Resistant: Fire, Earth

Weakness: Any spell cast against a user of this element is half as effective, while any spell cast by a user of this element is twice as effective.

Neutral: All spells cast by or against a user of this element is cast with normal efficiency.

Resistant: Any spell cast against a user of this element is twice as effective, while any spell cast by a user of this element is half as effective.

The wide array of water spells are generally broken down into one of the following four schools of magic: Hydromancy, Glaciemancy, Steomancy and Atmomancy. While this document will not list every spell available to each school, it will provide a description of each school.

Hydromancy: The most basic School of Water Magic that focuses on the creation and manipulation of water. Every dygua with a Blessing has some innate talent with this School, but only those with the strongest Blessings and dedicate their lives to the School can use the most powerful spells Hydromancy has to offer.

Glaciemancy: The second most basic School of Water Magic that focuses on the creation and manipulation of ice. Many dygua with a Blessing have some innate talent with this School, but only those with the strongest Blessings and dedicate their lives to the School can use the most powerful spells Glaciemancy has to offer.

Steomancy: An advanced School of Water Magic that focuses on the creation and manipulation of steam. Few dygua with a Blessing have some innate talent with this School, but only those with the strongest Blessings and dedicate their lives to the School can use the most powerful spells Steomancy has to offer.

Atmomancy: The most powerful School of Water Magic that focuses on controlling the weather. Almost no dygua possesses the innate talent required to learn any spell from this school. Of those select few, only those with the strongest Blessings and dedicate their lives to the School can use the most powerful spells Atmomancy has to offer.
