The Holy See of Trest
The sypor society is built around the Holy See that operates in Yagdrosin, the Tree of Life, and focuses around the teachings of their Deity, Vestale, the Goddess of Life. The Holy See oversees the Tribunal (the primary governing body), the Knights Rainin (the primary peacekeeping force) and the Children of the Mother (the primary religious sect).
The overall hierarchy of the Holy See is as follows:
Her Holiness: The top authority in sypor culture. She is the oldest sypor, the first Touched sypor and the only sypor Prime in history.
Holy See: A council of six sypor that consists of the two highest ranking members of the Children of the Mother, the House of Lords and the Chamber of Commons. These six operate as the leaders of their factions and advisors to Her Holiness. The argol companions of these six also act as council members when requested.
Children of the Mother: The organization that runs the sypor religion, Naturalism. Given the sypor’s standing with each of the other races, their chantries are permitted in each of the other realms. Naturalism is the only religion that is spread beyond the borders of its homeland making Vestale the only deity worshiped alongside the deity’s of the other races.
Divine: Leader of the Children of the Mother and oversees the Grand Clerics. Her Holiness occupies this role.
Grand Cleric: Leaders of the Children of the Mother in each realm and oversee the Revered Mothers/Fathers. Two Grand Clerics serve the Holy See.
Revered Mother/Father: Leader of an individual chantry. Women are prioritized.
Sisters/Brothers: Members of the Naturalism faith.
Knights Rainin: This faction is comprised solely of the sypor’s argol partners. While they normally serve as the silent guardians of the sypor, the existence of this class grants them the autonomy and authority to decide amongst themselves how to best protect the sypor and their interests. An argol’s overall authority and title within this faction is correlated with their sypor’s authority and title. So for example the title of the argol companion of Her Holiness is His Holiness.
Tribunal: This faction acts as the main legislative body of the sypor. It consists of three organizations that serve to represent the two main groups of sypor: The Chamber of Commons, the House of Lords and the Justicar.
Chamber of Commons: A group of one-hundred regular sypor that are elected by their peers to represent their interests in a legislative capacity.
House of Lords: A group of one-hundred sypor nobles that are elected by their peers to represent their interests in a legislative capacity.
Justicar: A sypor elected to oversee and resolve legal disputes. They are elected by their communities and regions on a local and regional level. The Chamber of Commons and House of Lords each choose five of their own to form the Justicar Committee that oversees and resolves disputes between the two organizations.
